I write these words for you to read  then, to inspire in your heart the yearning for the loving embrace of  sunlight. To prepare yourself to receive, I encourage you to give up  what you think you know, who you think you are. These gloriously crisp  country mornings like today&#8217;s are a simple, gracious reminder: to remind  you of what you are capable of containing.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Try this, sitting upright with a straight spine stretch your neck by gently lowering your right ear to your right shoulder. Now super slowly, move your head back and roll the left year over to your left shoulder. Take a deep breath and notice the tightness, the soreness, the resistance in your neck. I&#8221;m willing to bet its pretty tight in there, I know it hurts a little bit but also feels really good to give your neck a little stretch. Can you just take a moment and reflect on this? Just barely beneath your skin is muscle and tendon, nerves, and blood. And there is so much tenseness, just in a short 15 second stretch you can feel more space in your neck.</p>
<p>magine how much more space and ease you will experience in your life &#8212; JUST by creating more space and ease inside of your body! A few stretches and your breath deepens, your blood pressure and heart rate begin to slow. Just a little movement in your body and you have a new tool to manage stress, ward off disease, and most importantly feel really really good inside of your own skin. Sure, you can work really hard and with a lot of stress you can make a lot of money &#8212; which can buy you lots of fun experiences for your body. But the clincher comes in the form of all the stress that is stored inside of your cells, tightening and restricting easy movement through your life. Ask yourself this &#8211; is the stress that you endure so you can live a better tomorrow worth the sacrifice you are making in the moment to moment experience of your life through your own body? Our body is the vehicle in which we journey through our life&#8221;s situations, moving with ease and lightness, space and good health is one of the most efficient ways to improve your life experience dramatically. Movement is truth and, as the cliche reminds us, change is the only constant &#8211; embrace them and flow in harmony with your body.</p>

Vibration, temperature, even the moon&#8217;s gravitational language can all be encoded into water, life&#8217;s most precious resource. Earth&#8217;s surface is made up of more water than land (75% of the planet&#8217;s surface area is water) as the life-sustaining critical stroke of luck (or divinity) that had cajoled mother nature to set up home on our planet. As expressions of nature, it is no wonder that my body is made up of 70% water. Since I am more liquid than solid, just as Earth is, the same influences, vibrations, sounds, moon cycles, temperatures, whale songs &#8212; all the information that is encoded, impacting the planet &#8212; naturally impact me.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Even when everything seems to be going well in my life, I still don&#8217;t always receive, enjoy, and appreciate all the gifts (and challenges, to be honest) I&#8217;m receiving from the universe. Regardless of how the rest of my life is, a loving smile from a stranger, an sweet offer to help from a neighbor immediately brings me joy. Random, haphazard acts of giving and receiving love through out my days is, something I&#8217;ve discovered, another foundation of wellness. For me to be healthy, physically, mentally and spiritually I need love. Love for myself, love for others, love in all my actions. I don&#8217;t fully buy into the old boring hippie cliche that love is all you need &#8211; I still need air and food and water along with love. But I will steal another old cliche and remix it: Love every day, keeps the doctor away.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Reminders abound as I move from one vacation destination to the next, perusing one hammock-laden beach after the next &#8212; reminding me to take a load off my feet and relax. But why stop there? Why stop the daily ritual of resting and relaxing my mind and body after the vacation ends? I think I&#8217;m hooked onto a daily practice of chilling the heck out, and not just in front of a computer (or TV). Complete relaxation is a task in itself, too valuable to be pooled into a multi-tasking spree. A whole world of techniques, methods, activities to explore that serve solely to relax, renew, rejuvenate. Shifting from the flight-fight response to relaxation response, shifting from sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system, crossing the chasm from struggle to ease&#8230; this is the daily relaxation that each of us needs to function and thrive in our worlds.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A mark of wealth and ultimate richness is a full night of restful sleep. Sleep isn&#8217;t part of some new age philosophy, some counter-culture experiment with our bodies &#8212; it is one of the basic foundations of existence as a human. How strange it is that we homo sapiens need to bring our bodies into the horizontal plane, close our eyes, and drift off into a completely different state of consciousness for a 7-9 hours each day! The strangeness of it recalls the strangeness of watching animals in the wild, watching monkeys swinging from branch to branch &#8212; watching nature manifest itself in all creatures, including us. How can we forget that we are just one of mother natures children when we succumb to the heavy drug of sleepiness within every 24hours? Succumbing to that state of sleep is my birthright: nourishing, healing, repairing and rejuvenating my body, mind, and spirit every single night.</p>
<p>Sleep deprivation has been an ancient torture treatment for prisoners of war throughout human history, and now the punishment is self imposed. With daily stressors and an unsupported lifestyle, many of us on this planet carry our bodies and minds through the day lacking enough sleep. We move through our lives incomplete and depleted. Imagine how much sweeter your world would be if everyone in your life slept well and completely each night, imagine a world where people took naps when they are irritable and tired &#8212; rather than lashing out and reacting aggressively.</p>
<p>Maybe world peace wouldn&#8221;t seem such a daunting task if we just supported one another in having a full night&#8221;s rest.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve given up trying to be beautiful. I&#8217;ve tried on all sorts of labels and all sorts of alternative lifestyles from being a vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, raw food-ist, vegetarian, GMO-free granola munching free spirit to a suit-wearing, fast food eating business woman. And as fun as these dress-up games have been, I just realized that I have been no different from the &#8220;fake&#8221; women of southern California that I&#8217;ve been mocking all these years.</p>
<p>Whether it is a new Prada purse or a new power juicer, a new nose or a new yoga mat &#8212; I&#8217;ve been playing the exact same game of making my self feel beautiful by buying stuff. This inner beauty thing has to go a lot deeper than even a super hot yoga body, I can&#8217;t just stop here.</p>
<p>So I dug deep, and in my meditations, I found some clarity: It is about loving myself as I love my sister. My mother, my father. Loving myself as much as I love my friends, family. Thats it. Its about valuing myself as a human being deserving of the love that this planet earth provides us freely. I am part of nature and I am as beautiful as a little daisy on the side of the road, without trying to be beautiful &#8211; I already am. Thats it. And my body deserves to be fueled by high quality nourishment. Just like that little daisy deserves proper soil, sunlight, and rain to thrive.</p>
